Why use massage as a prevention? What are the benefits? Why in oriental culture is massage used regularly?

When we get hurt, our natural reaction is to rub the injured area to relieve the pain. Touch has a healing power and we instinctively use it without being aware of it. Have you ever thought about it?

As we know, the human body is made up of several systems, eg:

muscular
nervous
skeletal
digestive

circulatory

lymphatic

Every system can be affected by massage. Like?

Improved blood flow helps alleviate many muscle problems. When a muscle is tense and rigid, it contracts. When contracting, it decreases its flexibility causing the muscle fibers to stick together and dry. In more severe cases, tensions and "knots" appear that look like "stones lodged" inside the muscle. The result is very painful.
However, massaging a tight, contracted muscle increases its blood flow so that toxins and waste are expelled from the cells and eliminated from the body through urine, defecation and perspiration.
When one bodily system is negatively affected, the other systems are also affected. Tense and contracted muscles affect the skeletal system, gradually pulling the muscles out of alignment, eventually causing more pain and gradually reducing mobility.
Massage stretches and relaxes the muscles, which in turn helps to realign the skeleton.

Some physical and mental benefits of a massage:
Elimination of toxins;
Relief from muscle pain;
Greater flexibility;
Chronic pain relief;
Reduction of headaches and tension;
Better immune system;
Greater concentration;
Restful sleep.

Shall we prevent?
