Why resort to massage as prevention? What are the benefits? Why ,in oriental culture, massage is used on a regular basis?

When we hurt each other, our natural reaction is to rub the injured area to relieve pain. Touch has a healing power and instinctively we use it without realize it. Ever think of that?

We know the human body consists of several systems:

Muscle
Nervous
Skeletal
Digestive

Circulatory

Lymphatic

Each system can be affected by the massage. How?

Improving blood flow helps alleviate many muscle problems. When a muscle is tense and rigid, it contracts. By contracting, it decreases its flexibility by causing the muscle fibers to unite and to be decreasing. In more severe cases, tensions and "we" appear to be "housed stones" inside the muscle. The result is very painful.
However, when massaging a tense and contracted muscle, your blood flow increases, so that toxins and residues are expelled from the cells and disposed of from the body through urine, defecation and perspiration.
When a body system is adversely affected, the other systems are also affected. Tense and contracted muscles affect the skeletal system, gradually pulling the muscles of the alignment, ending up causing more pain and reducing mobility gradually.
The massage lengthens and relaxes the muscles, which in turn helps to realign the skeleton.

Some physical and mental benefits of a massage:
Elimination of toxins;
Relief of muscle aches;
Greater flexibility;
Chronic pain relief;
Reduction of headaches and tension;
Better immune system;
Greater concentration;
Sleep rested.

Shall we prevent it?
